THE HOME- MADE RUG.

 Written By: Eunice Iseoluwa Oyekunle

Sometimes ago, my sister and I prepared a budget of what we needed to buy. A rug was among the most important needs but it was like the fourth thing on our list.

With the little amount that we had, we went to the market. After we had bought the first three needs, we planned to use the remaining money for a rug but to our dismay, the prices of the rugs were more than what we bargained for.

We went back home very disappointed.

Two days later, my sister told me in the early hours of the morning that she had found a solution to our rug problem. I was in awe, I doubted if she knew what she was saying. She then continued.

‘’ We are going to make our rugs ourselves’’. She said excitedly.

I couldn’t believe my ears.

But just as Abraham followed God patiently without knowing the actual place He was taking him to, I patiently watched as my sister unfolded her creativity.

When I was through with what I was doing, I went to join her to make the rugs.

She explained to me that she got the idea of how to make rugs through some YouTube videos and she got it at once!

‘What a smart lady!’ I thought within me.

She explained the process to me and gbam, I got the idea too. We made those rugs like we were professionals and believe me it came out well. The rug is right inside our siting room till date.

The process of rug making is so simple and you can easily get its materials. All you need is an old thick cloth, a wool and a gum. That’s all. But we never knew!

What am I trying to pass across?

Nothing is impossible for you to do

If you believe that you can, you will.

Before that time that, my sister and I wouldn’t have thought that we would one day make a rug. I personally didn’t believe that I could do it, but I eventually did.

Dear friends, there is no harm in trying. Try and make an attempt in doing what you think is difficult.

That thing that you have tried doing but you have failed at over and over, pick it up and try doing it again. The hardest step is to start.

Start that blog that you have always wanted to start.

Start writing those exciting stories

Start releasing those albums.

Start sewing those clothes.

Rome wasn’t built in a day!

And nobody became perfect at the first attempt.

Do that thing that you love over and over again.

Never let failure limit your success.

Never stop because of people’s negative comments,

You are your own coach!

Don’t ever be limited because of your past

You can do it!

You can make it!

Never stop until you get your desired result. And then you will look at your work and you will ask yourself.

Did I really make that?

Thanks for reading.

Stay positive

Don’t forget to leave me a comment. God bless you. Please share.
